You've reached www.infonuovo.com/dma/csdocs/sketch , the location for a sketch of the Compound-Structured Documents Extensions to the DMA 1.0 Specification:
- what is CSDocs,
- how it fits with DMA 1.0,
- how CSDocs is used to provide interoperability among compound-structured documents systems,
- the benefits of CSDocs,
- how CSDocs fits in the overall scheme of things and considerations for introduction in an interoperable way with other standards and other DMA implementations
- sources of more information
This is not the definitive source of information about CSDocs. The latest information on this sketch, until it is approved as a supplement to DMA 1.0, is in the record of the DMA CSDocs Subcommittee:
- The latest sketch from the subcommittee is in the AIIM DMA FTP Site's
ftp://ftp.aiim.org/DMA/TechnicalCommittee/CSDocs/WorkingPapers/Sketch
subdirectory. The sketch files have names like cs990602.zip, where the numerals are the date of the particular edition. Find the latest one to download. The ZIP file contains a set of HTML pages and supporting files that are unzipped into a single folder for viewing. The starting page is named default.htm. ftp.aiim.org is a moderated site. You will need an User ID and a Password to access the material. All members of DMA have access. If you don't know the password, request it from one of the officers of the DMA Technical Committee.
- The InfoNuovo DMA Information Clearinghouse location http://www.infonuovo.com/dma/csdocs/sketch is provided as a convenience for DMA Tech readers who may find it difficult to access ftp.aiim.org. . A recent version of the material is kept here in the form of viewable web pages. This is not the definitive source on this topic. The latest, official version is always on ftp.aiim.org.
This web page, www.infonuovo.com/dma/csdocs/sketch/index.htm, is part of the engineering, construction management, maintenance, and infrastructure of the InfoNuovo web. You are welcome to explore this and other construction-information pages. You'll need your hard hat and safety shoes.
If you'd rather find out about DMA's approach to Compound-Structured Documents than admire the scaffolding, organization, and implementation of the infonuovo.com site, go directly to the DMA/CSDocs/sketch web folder. If that doesn't work, come back later. The folder is blocked off whenever the construction crew is working here.
