[others created by Windows Live Writer and not managed as part of Construction Structure]
This section holds nfoCentrale Status images introduced via postings through Windows Live Writer. These are different than the images that are introduced as "assets" by Movable Type.
The images are mainly loaded by use of tools that make direct FTP transfer of the images as part of blog-page publishing. To avoid excessive accumulations in a single archive, images are now being uploaded in annual groups. If there is excessive material for accumulation in the course of a full year, further subdivision will be made in some way. Note: Images are placed in the folder that is active when the related post is created; this is not always related to the date of the post, which may have been back-dated as part of recovery of historical materials.
Because the tools create specially-generated folder and image names, no effort is made to manage those. Instead, along with backup to a hosted-site image on a development server, I also create a Zip archive of the material as an additional backup. I usually have the original images somewhere else already, but the Zip reflects exactly how the material was organized and formatted on the hosted site for use from blog posts. The Zip is also versioned in VSS and it is shared to the development web, as additional backup.
In any case, this material is not meant to be reached by deep-linking or direct navigation. There is no assurance that link integrity will be preserved.
